Dear attendees of the 2020 ICCE-Taiwan,

On behalf of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc), it is my great pleasure and honor to welcome each one of you to the 7th IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics Taiwan 2020 (2020 ICCE-Taiwan) that is to be hold on 28-30 September 2020 in the beautiful Taoyuan, Taiwan.

The reason of the establishment of the IEEE ICCE-Taiwan Conference was founded in 2014 in Taiwan with the objective of providing the researchers, engineers, scientists, faculty, students, and government policy makers the opportunity to attend, present, demonstrate, and share the latest research and development in consumer technologies industry. The industry and academia in Taiwan have been playing a significant role in consumer technologies. The industrial and academic collaborations provide rich resources and support for research, engineering, manufacturing, and innovation. This lead to the Taiwan’s leading role on consumer electronics industry nationally and internationally.

The IEEE ICCE-Taiwan Conference became an international forum where each year, conference participants bring the leading edge technologies, innovative ideas, technology trends, research results, and specific industry skills to the conference, and take away with them the new challenges learned from the conferences.

This year the theme of 2020 ICCE- Taiwan conference is “Smart Technologies for Consumer Electronics - AI, IoT and More” and its focus is to attract participants from all around the world to attend the conference and to present and learn the advancement on consumer technology.

This year, despite the world pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the 2020 ICCE-Taiwan Conference has received around 490 technical paper submissions and accepted 314. This shows that the ICCE-Taiwan conference attains high reputation internationally. The 2020 ICCE-Taiwan, this time, will be held as a hybrid conference, allowing the participants the choice of attend the conference either in-person or virtually. This new format will provide a valuable and abundant experience for all attendees.

In the meantime, on behalf of IEEE Consumer Technology Society, I would like to take the opportunity to express many special thanks to the Taiwanese Government for their support to the 2020 ICCE-Taiwan Organizing Committee to hold the Conference as a hybrid event due to COVID-19, which is a combination of a face-2-face event for local attendees and at the same time virtual for other attendees from around the globe.

I would like also to express my sincere thanks to the 2020 ICCE- Taiwan Organization Committee for putting all efforts especially this year to overcome every difficulty to hold this hybrid conference which is much more complicated than an online conference or a physical conference. I would like also to thank the Honorary General Chair Jing-Yang Jou (National Central University, Taiwan), the Honorary General Co-Chairs Kuo-Chin Fan (National Central University, Taiwan) and Wen-June Wang (National Central University, Taiwan), the General Chairs: Tsung-Han Tsai (National Central University, Taiwan), Pao-Chi Chang (National Central University, Taiwan), and Chu Yu (National Ilan University, Taiwan), the Technical Program Chairs: Po-Chyi Su (National Central University, Taiwan), Chih-Wei Huang (National Central University, Taiwan), Takuji Tachibana (University of Fukui, Japan), and Ming-Lin Chuang (National Penghu University of Science and Technology, Taiwan), and all volunteers for their dedication and hard work and selfless contribution in making this 2020 ICCE Conference a successful event.

Also, I would like to give my special thanks to Professor Wen-Chung Kao, Professor Jing-Ming Guo, Professor Pei-June Li, Professor Yu-Cheng Fan, Professor, Chih-Peng Fan, and Professor Winston Fang for their years of effort in founding ICCE-Taiwan, and for their constant effort in keeping the conference growing with continuous success. I would like also to thanks all authors for making great effort of sharing their innovative minds and research results with the technical community. Also thanks to all the participants for their loyal support and for attending the conference. Last, but not the least, also I would like to thank the IEEE Consumer Technology Society Taipei Chapter for supporting the conference as a Technical Sponsor.

It is with your hard work and generous contribution of all of you that could make this conference a great success Together, we make this conference a successful event!
