Tsung-Han Tsai received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1990, 1994, and 1998 respectively. From 1999 to 2000, he was an Associate Professor of electronic engineering at Fu Jen University. He joined National Central University in 2000. Since 2008 he was a full Professor in the department of electrical engineering at National Central University. Currently he is also the director of Intelligent Chip and System Center in National Central University, and also serves as the Principal Investigator of the National Program for Intelligent Electronics. Dr. Tsai has been awarded more than 40 patents and 230 refereed papers published in international journals and conferences. Dr. Tsai received the Industrial Cooperation Award in 2003 from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. He received the Best Paper Award from the IEEE International Conference on Innovations in Bio-inspired Computing and Applications (IBICA) in 2011, and IEEE International Conference on Innovation, Communication and Engineering (ICICE) in 2015. His research team has won many international IC related student design contest awards including ISOCC in 2015, TI DSP Asia Design Contest in 2008, and ISSCC in 2011. He has served as a Guest Editor of special issues for Journal of VLSI Signal Processing Systems. He was a General Co-Chair of IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things 2014. He has been an IEEE member for over 15 years, and serves as Technical Program Committee member or Session Chair of several international conferences. His research interests include VLSI signal processing, video/audio coding algorithms, DSP architecture design, wireless communication and System-On-Chip design.

Wen-Chung Kao

Prof. Wen-Chung Kao received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1992 and 1996, respectively. From 1996 to 2000, he was a Department Manager at SoC Technology Center, ERSO, ITRI, Taiwan. From 2000 to 2004, he was an Assistant Vice President at NuCam Corporation in Foxlink Group, Taiwan, where he was responsible for leading embedded software team to develop digital still/video cameras. In 2002, he was also invited to form SiPix Technology Inc., Taipei, Taiwan, where he was in charge of setting up the research team of the company and studying flexible electrophoretic display. Since 2004, he has been with National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), Taipei, Taiwan, where he is currently a Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering and the Dean of School of Continuing Education. His current research interests include system-on-a-chip (SoC) as well as embedded software design, flexible electrophoretic display, machine vision system, digital camera system, and color imaging science.

He received the Best Paper Awards at the IEEE 2006 International Symposium on Consumer Electronics, IEEE 2006 Asia-Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems, IEEE 2011 International Symposium on Consumer Electronics, and IEEE 2014 International Conference on Consumer Electronics. He is the Founding General Chair of IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics – Taiwan and the General Chair of The 17-th IEEE International Symposium on Consumer Electronics. Currently, he serves as a Senior Editor of IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, VP of International Affairs in IEEE Consumer Electronics Society, and VP of Conferences in IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society. He is a Fellow of IEEE.

Chia-Feng Juang

Chia-Feng Juang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Control Engineering from the National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1993 and 1997, respectively.

Since 2001, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Chung-Hsing University (NCHU), Taichung, Taiwan, R.O.C., where he became a Full Professor in 2007 and has been a Distinguished Professor since 2009. He was the Chair of Taipei Chapter, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (2017-2018), which received the Outstanding Chapter Award from IEEE Taipei Section in 2019, and is Director of Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association and Chinese Automatic Control Society. He has authored or coauthored nine book chapters, 100 journal papers (including over 55 IEEE journal papers), and over 110 conference papers. His current research interests include computational intelligence, intelligent control, computer vision, and intelligent robots.

Dr. Juang received the Youth Automatic Control Engineering Award from Chinese Automatic Control Society (CACS), Taiwan, in 2006; the Outstanding Youth Award from Taiwan System Science and Engineering Society, Taiwan, in 2010; the Excellent Research Award from NCHU, Taiwan, in 2010; the Outstanding Youth Award from Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association, Taiwan, in 2014; and the Outstanding Automatic Control Engineering Award from CACS, Taiwan, in 2014. He was elevated to CACS Fellow in 2016 and IEEE Fellow in 2019. Dr. Juang is an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON FUZZY SYSTEMS, the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CYBERNETICS, the Asian Journal of Control, and the Journal of Information Science and Engineering and an Area Editor of the International Journal of Fuzzy Systems.
